“Did you let the Federation know you were out-sourcing?”

The week is young and so far three institutions have fallen foul of caveat above.

IF you want to access federation compliant resources via outsourced identity provision (such as using OpenAthens) it is still essential you let the UK federation know if you didn’t do so as part of your membership application.

An email to:
service@ukfederation.org.uk
should do the trick.

    Please note that an email alone may not be sufficient.
    If you’re outsourcing to Eduserv, the federation want certain data to match up at their end and ours and for this reason you should use the page in your Athens admin area: OpenAthens (under Housekeeping). The page will also generate a template you can use for the email to the federation.
