PLEASE NOTE THE UK ACCESS MANAGEMENT FOCUS IS NO LONGER FUNDED BY JISC AND THIS SITE IS NOW FOR ARCHIVE REFERENCE ONLY.

The UK Access Management Focus is an advisory service role based in JISC Advance. The purpose of the role is three-fold:

  1. To provide expert advice, guidance and support (including project management support) on access management to external stakeholders on request. Work currently being undertaken in this area includes project management work for REFEDS and the PEER project, and acting as Consortium Manager for the Shibboleth Consortium.
  2. To maintain a watching brief on access management developments and how they affect UK research and education, and to provide support to the community on these issues. This work is mainly delivered via this blog, the JISC-SHIBBOLETH mailing list and support work with the JISC RSCs.
  3. To provide specific advice and guidance to JISC on access management directions. This is mainly achieved through monthly reports to the JISC Executive, which are publicly available on this blog.

The UK Access Management Focus supports the aims of the UK federation Policy and Advisory Board in meeting its strategy.

The role is currently held by Nicole Harris who can be contacted as follows:
